My broadcom ethernet driver device ID PCIVEN_14E4&DEV_16B1 and associated Broadcom part numbers is BCM57781 I cannot revert back to Windows 7 as well as its been more than 2 months since I have upgraded to Windows 10.
I am guessing this is a Windows 10 issue as my Ethernet port was working perfectly fine before the update. Some of the post I have gone through include:
I have read a lot of issues faced by others since the recent update but even after trying all those fixes, I am unable to start internet through my wired ethernet port.
The funny thing is the Ethernet Adapter is always showing as disabled and whenever I click on Enable button on my Ethernet Adapter in Network Connections, it gives me a message 'Enabled' but still shows it as disabled.Īlso the device manager for the device shows that the 'Device is working properly' and on clicking update the latest driver, it gives the message ' The best driver software is already installed'
Checked with a professional techie guy but no luck. Tried connecting through different Ethernet cables. When I run diagnostics it tells me it says there might be a problem with the drivers but provides no fix.Manually changed the Receiver Side Scaling as Disabled.Uninstalling the driver and reinstalling the latest one manually (When I uninstall, the Ethernet Adapter in my network settings also gets uninstalled and I am unable to restore it back without a system restore option).
Upgrade to a different version of Ethernet Driver (17.2.0.2) as it was mentioned in one of the community post. Downgrading the driver to an older version (While installing the older version, I am getting the same error as mentioned above). My PC has a fixed IP and not linked to any other computer/s. :emotion-7: Internet access to the computer LAN port does remain, and WIFI from the router is working fine. I disabled my digital device certificate, still I am getting this error. My network status in Windows 7 shows 'No Internet Access' - I get a yellow warning on the network icon in the system tray). Manually downloaded the latest driver from () and update existing driver ( while installing, I get an error message in the end 'Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device. I have tried the following things before posting this query but its still not working: I'm going to see if that makes any difference.īroadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet Driver 15.6.1.2 signed by Microsoft.Įver since I updated Broadcom Netlink(TM) Gigabit Ethernet Driver to 15.6.0.14 through an auto update from Windows Update on my Windows 10, I am unable to connect to the Internet through my Ethernet wired adapter. I went into devide manager, and remove the system's permisison to turn of the NIC to save power. Twice the computer has bluescreened during the reboot to get the LAN back. The only way to get the lan adapter back is to reboot. If I run the built in Windows network troubleshooter, it completely disables my LAN connection (red X), and the connection will stay disabled even when I right-click to enable it. I have other computers on my home network that use the same dhcp server provided by ATT, so I know it's not a problem with my ISP. IPconfig renew behaves as if the media is disconnected. Nothing I can see correlates in app/sys logs. This happens inside five minutes or sometimes stays up for an hour or so but has gone down at least seven times this morning. I'll get a yellow bang on the LAN icon, and I will be unable to browse the internet or connect to other machines on my local network. Since then, my LAN connection consistently stops functioning.
